      ON BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY, On Sunday, Nov. 10, a surprise birthday dinner was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Keeney for Anna Keeney, who was 72 years old. The dinner was served cafeteria style. The afternoon was spent socially. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Claude Keeney, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Keeney and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Patten and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rhinehart and baby, Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Combs and family, Harold Keeney, Sylvanis Doonan, Sue Eggert, Edward and Margaret Mary Carpenter, Mrs. Chas. Carpenter, Mrs. Anna Keeney, all of Brooklyn; Lewis Burry of Victor, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Combs and baby of Belle Plaine. Afternoon callers were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Smith of Des Moines.

      Sharon Combs Natoli, Obituary, Brooklyn Chronicle, unknown date, copy from Sharon Combs Natoli, Mrs. Lou Anna Keeney, Funeral services for Mrs. Lou Anna Keeney, who died at her home in South Brooklyn Feb. 2, 1943, following a long illness, were conducted from the Bramer funeral home Thursday afternoon with the Rev. E. W. F. Holler in
      charge. Burial the following day was made at Belton, Mo. Short services at the grave were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Bramer, pastor of the Baptist church.
      Lou Anna Robison was born in Missouri Nov. 10, 1863. Her young womanhood was spent in that state and in Iowa. In early life she became a member of the Baptist church at Belton, Mo. Oct. 14, 1880 she married Richard B. Keeney at Belton, Mo. Nine children were born to the couple, four of whom preceded their mother in death. They were Ernest, Clyde J., Fred F., and Ray V. Surviving are five children, Mrs. Eva Combs, Edgar F. Keeney, Clarence H. and Claude B. of Brooklyn, and Elmer R. of Victor. Thirteen grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Keeney, who came to Brooklyn over 20 years ago, was a Gold Star mother and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
