BUTLER, BILLIE ALICE PIERCE
Billie Alice (Pierce) Butler, 87, of Augusta and retired Style Shop employee after 37 years, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2009.
Viewing will be held from 1-6 p.m. Thursday, and visitation with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m., both at Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 17, in Elmwood Cemetery off of the 12th Street entrance, Augusta.
Billie was born Nov. 15, 1921 in Wichita to Earl and Lydia (Short) Pierce, Sr. She graduated from Wichita East High School in 1939 and married Robert Myrl Butler, Sr., on Aug. 22, 1942. Billie was the past president of the ladies auxiliary of the AFL-CIO 5-246A and a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include: her spouse, Robert Butler, Sr. and a son, Robert Butler, Jr., both of Augusta; sister, Sarah "Annie" Langloys of Wichita.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, A.D, Kenneth and Earl Pierce, Jr. and a sister, Pearl Pierce.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association.
