      Mrs. Ira Whitlock
      Mrs. Ira Whitlock, 71, died at her home here following an illness ofthree years. She had resided in Sweetser for a number of years and waswell known throughout this community. She was a member of the SweetserMethodist Episcopal Chruch and had always taken an active part in churchwork.
      She was born in the northern part of Grant County, March 19, 1863, thedaughter of Joseph and Mary Gilbreath, and spent most of her girlhood inthat community. In August, 1884 she married Ira Whitlock.
      Surviving are the husband, one son, Joseph Whitlock, of Muncie; twodaughters, Mrs. Ethel Clupper, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Mrs. HelenKnotts, of Marion; a brother, Benjamin Gilbreath; eleven grandchildrenand two great-grandchildren.
      Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sweetser MethodistEpiscopal church, Rev. Travis Purdy was in charge. Burial was made inGrant Memorial Park, Marion.
